Referring to your letter of the 6th November,

I am directed to state that the S. 8. "Wollowra" has been requisitioned on behalf of this Government, who propose to place her at the disposal of the Kailan Mining Administrati for the purpose of bringing their coal to the Colony.

It is suggested that the vessel should be

run by your firm on conditions similar to those on which

liner requisition vessels are run, the accounts being subject to audit, The coal would be sold by you under contracts made to parties approved by this Government.

I am to enquire whether you donour in these proposals. The vessel is due here in a few days' time.
